    About this opportunity:By becoming a Volunteer Buddy you will enable someone to get out and about a bit more. It may be that you spend social time with someone at their own home, chatting, playing a game of dominoes or watching sports. Or, depending on the individual you are matched with, you might go out for a coffee, a walk or to see a show.

    The benefits to you as a volunteer can include, meeting new people, learning new skills, gaining valuable experience, confidence building but most importantly knowing that you are making a positive difference to someone's life.

    Takes place:
    Minimum age:none specified - most organisations will work with volunteers aged 16 and over
    Maximum age:100
    Training provided:Mandatory training for those providing 1:1 support. This will include, Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA), Disability & Equality, Key Policies and Volunteer induction. Additional training can be available for those that are interested in further development.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Travel expenses refunded on the day.

    Experience required:We do not look for volunteers to have any particular experience, instead we focus on the qualities of volunteers. We ask that volunteers are kind and caring, punctual and reliable, want to make a difference to someone's life and finally, have a sense of humour.
