This is a unique opportunity to use your administrative skills to support Fife Youth Jazz Orchestra in an inspiring musical environment. Ideal for anyone with some spare time, admin skills and an interest in music.
Organise 2 - 4 committee meetings per year and the AGM, take minutes and circulate to trustees, committee members and tutors. Arrive at 6.45 pm on practice nights to set up registration table and welcome new players. Maintain up to date membership records, maintain attendance records for each term. Maintain list of FYJO patrons. Maintain list of public who wish to be informed about concerts and keep them up to date. Communicate with players, parents and tutors via email/Facebook and occasionally post. Receive incoming emails/messages and phone enquiries from members and public and action as appropriate. Give treasurer up to date list of players before the start of each term for invoice purposes.
The current secretary who steps down at the AGM on 21st April 2016 will remain on with the board and will give handover training and initial support to the volunteer

Ideally an organised person with some admin experience. Confident in the use of MS word and using email. This opportunity cold be ideal for someone who works or studies part time or has retired and has use of a computer

FYJO practices take place in Lochgelly Center every Thursday evening during term time 7pm until 9.15 pm. The center has its own parking which is free and is close to a bus stop.
This opportunity is compatible with the Saltire Awards for volunteers aged 12-25.
