Volunteering is a fantastic way to make a difference to the life of someone else. It can also be a fantastic opportunity to enhance your own life and build new skills to help your personal and career development. Our peer mentors offer support to adults aged 25-40yrs with disabilities. Peer Mentors support the adult in improving socialization, broadening horizons and to try new experiences. The Peer Mentor will also improve the adults' confidence, self-esteem, health and well-being skills by meeting up with them on a regular basis, to build a trusting one to one relationship. Events will be pre-arranged and facilitated and will involve small groups. For example, two peer mentors and two adults going to the cinema or for a meal. This allows the person space and a suitable environment to explore and build up friendships.
Induction and ongoing training for volunteers and support.
