About this opportunity: | To be the main contact in branch for local fundraising activity. Support the Branch Director and volunteers in all fundraising matters, working closely with the Fundraising Team at general office. To develop/contribute to all fundraising activities being delivered, meeting all legal and Local Council requirements. To ensure fundraising activities comply with Samaritan policies. Maintain records of donations made to the branch and acknowledge them. Collate relevant information for Trust applications. Maintain accurate records of :- companies, approaches for funding and responses and fundraising events and amounts raised. Assist in the promotion of fundraising events inside/outside of the branch. Coordinate communications to donors. Contribute and develop ideas with the fundraising team. Organise fundraising activities. Encourage participation from fundraisers/volunteers. Encourage/develop strategies to encourage community participation in activities/events to generate new money. Report/consult with the management committee to ensure fundraising monies are coinciding with existing running costs. Attend management meetings/provide reports on ongoing fundraising activities. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Training provided: | The volunteer would attend Induction and Module 1 of Samaritans Initial Training together with potential volunteers for listening roles. If there was further training available, through FVA for example, they would be able to attend if they wished to do so. Also Samaritans General Office Fundraising Team are available for advice if required. All volunteers are supported by a team, and every other volunteer in the branch. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Out of pocket expenses paid? | Yes - Expense forms are completed by the volunteer and submitted at regular intervals (no specific timescales, volunteer can decide, though not less than twice a year). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Experience required: | Preferably, though not essential, experience in a fundraising capacity, self-motivated and enthusiastic. Basic IT skills e.g. documents and spreadsheets.
Able to work with people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities.
