Real Living is a lively, dynamic project run by Link Living. We offer a befriending service to people aged 65 and over who live in West Fife and are isolated and lonely. Befriending is beneficial particularly for older people who do not get out and about much. As a befriender you might visit them at home for a cup of tea and a chat, read a book or watch TV together. Or go for a walk or visit a café. The matching process means that we match up befrienders with older people who have similar interests and the time together will be mutually enjoyable and beneficial.
no upper age limit has been specified
We provide full induction training plus any other training which may be relevant e.g. first aid, manual handling health & safety, food hygiene, dementia awareness as well as many other options.
We offer extensive training opportunities and regular meetings with other befrienders and Real Living volunteers. Real Living also offer twice yearly outings for everyone involved in the project as well as support and supervision from the Project Workers.
