Could you spare a few hours a month to enable someone to participate in community activities? Leonard Cheshire Disability have supported living and residential units in Glenrothes and along at our St Andrews service. Those that use our services would like volunteer support whether it's just coming along for a visit, going to the local shops/theatre/cinema, or a run on the bus. It may be that you have craft skills, reading skills, are a gaming enthusiast, anything that you are comfortable with doing.
There are mandatory checks that need to be completed and some basic training for those that are interested and there is always the opportunity to learn new skills which may contribute towards your CV and/or job prospects.

Online training and a one-to-one with the Volunteer Coordinator which covers Disability Awareness, Protection of Vulnerable Adults and some Health & Safety.
Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - All out of pocket expenses incurred through your volunteering - bus fares, coffee, lunch, etc, are reimbursed.
Caring, empathic, good communication skills, good sense of humour, sociable, reliable, trustworthy and puctual.
Previous experience is not essential as training and support will be given.
Leonard Cheshire Disability residential living and supported living services are based in Glenrothes, Blair Avenue, Pitteuchar, KY7 4RT and along at our St Andrews service. Travel expenses are met and any other costs incurred through the volunteer role e.g. coffee, tea and a light lunch.
This opportunity is compatible with the Saltire Awards for volunteers aged 12-25.
