    About this opportunity:The Linda Tremble Foundation (LTF) is set up to help support people suffering with an eating disorder and their carers/families.

    The LTF require additional Group Facilitators to manage the monthly, evening sessions.

    The cornerstone of our groups is confidentiality. Everyone must feel free and safe to talk openly and be listened to in a non-judgemental way.

    The Facilitators role will typically involve:
    Managing time appropriately, starting and finishing promptly.
    Maintaining the confidentiality of the group and respect the privacy of others.
    Listening and ensuring that everybody has an opportunity to speak for an equal amount of time and also the freedom to 'pass' should they wish to do so.
    Showing an understanding, consideration and respect for each other and to making a concerted effort not to interrupt.
    Keeping the discussion focused and specific, help encourage and motivate and aim to provide a positive atmosphere and celebrate progress

    Maximum age:no upper age limit has been specified
    Training provided:All volunteers will be required to complete the Volunteer Recruitment Process which includes submitting an application form with two satisfactory references. Successful applicants will receive induction training outlining the criteria for the role. Group Facilitators will also need PVG/Disclosure Certificate check. A full days initial training will be given and all volunteers will receive ongoing help and support.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Either public transport costs or mileage rates where applicable. Mileage rates will be paid in accordance with HMRC which at present is 45p per mile.

    Experience required:The volunteers need to be good listeners and able to offer support and encouragement in a non-judgemental manner. A good knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with mental health issues, particularly eating disorders would be advantageous.

    Restrictions on who can volunteer
    If the volunteer has previously had an eating disorder they must have been fully recovered for at least 2 years before they take on this role.

    Travel DetailsThe first venue is St Bryce Kirk in Kirkcaldy. We meet the first Tuesday of each month at 7 pm. The second venue is St Andrews University. Full details still to be arranged.
