The Linda Tremble Foundation (LTF) is set up to help support people suffering with an eating disorder and their carers/families.
The LTF require additional Group Facilitators to manage the monthly, evening sessions.
The cornerstone of our groups is confidentiality. Everyone must feel free and safe to talk openly and be listened to in a non-judgemental way.
The Facilitators role will typically involve: Managing time appropriately, starting and finishing promptly. Maintaining the confidentiality of the group and respect the privacy of others. Listening and ensuring that everybody has an opportunity to speak for an equal amount of time and also the freedom to 'pass' should they wish to do so. Showing an understanding, consideration and respect for each other and to making a concerted effort not to interrupt. Keeping the discussion focused and specific, help encourage and motivate and aim to provide a positive atmosphere and celebrate progress
no upper age limit has been specified
All volunteers will be required to complete the Volunteer Recruitment Process which includes submitting an application form with two satisfactory references. Successful applicants will receive induction training outlining the criteria for the role. Group Facilitators will also need PVG/Disclosure Certificate check. A full days initial training will be given and all volunteers will receive ongoing help and support.
Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - Either public transport costs or mileage rates where applicable. Mileage rates will be paid in accordance with HMRC which at present is 45p per mile.
The volunteers need to be good listeners and able to offer support and encouragement in a non-judgemental manner.
