    About this opportunity:Child Contact Centres play a key role in helping children affected by family breakdown to maintain relationships with the parent they do not live with or other family members.
    The volunteer works with the Organiser and other volunteers to provide a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for the families using the centre by:

     •  helping out with difficult ‘handovers’ and complex contact arrangements as advised by the Organiser

     •  being involved with both parents and children in order to make them feel at ease (this does not involve counselling or expressing and opinion)

     •  ensuring the availability of suitable play equipment and materials

     •  providing tea and coffee.

    Minimum age:18
    Maximum age:80
    Training provided:Induction covers the volunteer roles and tasks, what the service offers families and the policies and procedures relevant to the service.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Expenses are paid every month - 45p per mile or on receipt of bus or train tickets.

    Experience required:They are looking for volunteers who are friendly, honest, open-minded and have an awareness of the need for sensitivity towards individual service-users needs. Knowledge or experience of relationship breakdown would be helpful.
