ChildLine is appealing to a range of people who are committed to helping protect children. This new service for primary age children is looking for volunteers from across Fife. Schools will receive the new "Speak Out. Stay Safe" programme which aims to teach primary-age children about abuse, including bullying, how to protect themselves and where to get help if they need it. Volunteers will present assemblies and workshops to children aged between 5 and 11 years old. Volunteers must be 16 or over and will ideally have access to their own or public transport. Volunteers will work in pairs and will be given regular support, guidance and training to ensure they’re able to deliver the assemblies and workshops effectively.
no upper age limit has been specified
Volunteers will need to complete the initial assessed training for this role - two online modules and two days face-to-face training. Volunteers will be provided with ongoing support and development opportunities and will meet with the area co-ordinator.
Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - Volunteers will be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses. The mileage rate is currently 40p per mile. Expenses claims are made via NSPCC procedures and paid regularly.
