    About this opportunity:FSB has a rich history of providing pioneering services and has been at the forefront of supporting people with sight impairment for over 150 years.
    Volunteer Drivers with their own transport are required to support people who are registered with a sight impairment to access their local social group which meets weekly or fortnightly. The groups offer a range of activities, speakers and outings.

    Takes place:

    Thursdays
    Fridays
    Saturdays
    Sundays
    Minimum age:18
    Maximum age:no upper age limit has been specified
    Training provided:Induction and ongoing training provided, including Sight awareness and Guide Training.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Mileage is paid at 45p per mile, payable upon completion of your monthly claim form

    Experience required:Our volunteers need to have good communication skills, and to be caring, compassionate, friendly, reliable and trustworthy. Also require a high level of client confidentiality and maintenance of boundaries.

    Restrictions on who can volunteer
    Volunteers are required to have their own car, a clean driving licence and appropriate MOT and insurance.

    Taster available?Yes: Opportunity to visit the group beforehand.

    Travel DetailsVarious group locations throughout Fife which generally run for 2 hours on a morning or afternoon, on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Local drivers are required for local clients, attending local groups throughout Fife.

    Saltire AwardThis opportunity is compatible with the Saltire Awards for volunteers aged 12-25.
