    About this opportunity:The day centre for the elderly is operated by a team of volunteers at the Corrie Centre in Cardenden. Socially isolated or vulnerable older people are escorted to the day centre by bus provided by Fife Council. Volunteers are required to provide general assistance to clients such as serving meals/refreshments, providing a varied programme of activities and escorting clients to the toilet, although clients are all able to manage their own personal hygiene.

    Training provided:Familiarising new vols with the routine, duties, personnel, administration, health and safety issues associated with the day to day operation. Ongoing Training includes opportunities to take part in training related to food safety, health and safety.

    Experience required:Volunteers need to have a genuine interest in people and have a caring diposition. It is not necessary for volunteers to have previous experience of working with the elderly, although this can be a willingness to learn and work well as part of a team.
