About this opportunity:Would you like to host a tea party for a small group of elderly people in your own home just once or twice A YEAR?
Many older people feel isolated, so our monthly tea party outings make a big difference to their lives.
Once a month, on a Sunday afternoon, our groups of 6-8 guests, over 70s who are lonely and isolated, are collected from their homes by our volunteer drivers and taken to the home of a volunteer host. Everyone then enjoys a couple of hours of chat, laughter, tea, cakes and companionship before the drivers return our guests to their homes. Hosts are asked to provide a warm welcome and an afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes for the guests and drivers. The social connection provided by sharing a couple of hours company once a month is of huge benefit to our lonely guests.
