    About this opportunity:Our Advice Line offers a single point of access to our services, supporting people to manage their condition and live life to the full. Our four Advice Line volunteer opportunities support our Advice Line team to reach more people than ever before.

    Our Call Co-ordinator Volunteers act as the first point of contact for all incoming phone calls/emails/text messages to the Advice Line, while our Cost of Living Volunteers, Know Your Rights Volunteers, and Living Well Volunteers provide information and guidance on their specified area. Full training, ongoing support, and expenses are included in all our Advice Line roles.

    As an Advice Line volunteer you will have the opportunity to learn new skills, use your experience, meet new people and make a real difference to those impacted by one or more of our conditions.

    Training provided:All volunteers are supported by their volunteer manager, usually the Advice Line Co-ordinator. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland will provide all necessary training, which will be carried out under the guidance of the volunteer manager. Mandatory training will include: Safeguarding Adults (L2) E-Learning; Roles and Boundaries: Call Coordinator; Condition Awareness; GDPR UK: Essentials E-Learning; Cyber Security Awareness E-Learning
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Travel expenses should be agreed in advance with the Volunteer Manager and must be accompanied by an appropriate receipt. This includes travel from home, to and from the place of volunteering and any additional travel necessary in the course of volunteering. Car travel is reimbursed at 45p per mile.

    Experience required:Excellent listening and communication skills are essential for these roles, as well as the ability to volunteer independently with guidance and support. Volunteers must understand the need for confidentiality and boundaries, and must be comfortable using IT equipment and databases for the purpose of the role (training and support will be provided).
