OpportunityAbout this opportunity: Kirkcaldy Old Kirk Trust are responsible for preserving and maintaining Kirkcaldy Old Kirk as a community venue, heritage centre and community music hub. Are you interested in history? Do you enjoy theatre and performing? Are you a natural storyteller?
Kirkcaldy Old Kirk Trust require living history enthusiasts to bring history to life for the benefit and enjoyment of visitors. The role involves participating in Living History events portraying characters from the past and providing an engaging, memorable, enjoyable experience educating others about historical events and heritage.Takes place: mornings afternoons evenings Mondays 
Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays Saturdays Sundays Minimum age: 16 Maximum age: 100 Training provided: There is an induction for all volunteers and ongoing training will be provided as required. The induction will cover a brief history of the KOKT and the roles and responsibilities of volunteers, the policies and procedures as they appertain to the volunteers and an introduction to the named person for their role. The procedure for claiming expenses will be explained a tour of the Kirk/Gardens will be provided. Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - Travel expenses will be paid monthly however individual agreements for payment can be agreed. Public transport rates of 40p per mile apply.Experience required: The role requires an interest in drama and performing as well as an enthusiasm and passion for history. Good communication skills are essential as the volunteer will be engaging with their audience. Restrictions on who can volunteer
