    About this opportunity:Day Service Volunteers attend day sessions from 10
     • 30am to 2
     • 15pm, Mondays to Thursdays
     •  Reporting to the Session Coordinator and supporting within a team of staff and volunteers they assist in providing activities and entertainment, and with serving teas and coffees to clients on their arrival
     •  They also help to ensure a warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and to promote and maintain client independence and confidence
     •  All volunteers are PVG Scheme checked and induction and training is provided

    Training provided:The Day Service Coordinator provides a comprehensive induction including moving & handling and dementia awareness, and ongoing holds regular one to one support and development meetings with each volunteer. Role specific training is provided within the session by the Session Coordinators. From time to time external trainers visit to provide groups of staff/volunteers with additional training courses such as Emergency First Aid and Fire Safety Awareness.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Travel expenses are reimbursed at 45p per mile within the Glenrothes boundary for those driving in, and bus fares are capped at £5 per session on receipt of tickets.

    Experience required:Experience of working with/caring for older people, including people with dementia is desirable, however training is provided. A caring, professional approach to others is essential, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and work as part of a team. Reliability and a commitment to volunteering is also desirable.
