    About this opportunity:ME60+ Companion Support project connects people from minority ethnic communities
     •  They encourage speakers of all languages (beginners as well!) to meet and make new connections in Fife
     •  Volunteers will provide multi-lingual companion support to build meaningful connections, reduce social isolation and loneliness and improve health and well-being for all involved
     •  They welcome anyone over the age of 18 years, who want to make a difference to another person's life and value the opportunity of working across diverse cultures, languages, and backgrounds
     •  They seek people who are confident, bilingual, and who are good listeners
     •  Companions will meet in small groups, befriending others to explore all that Fife has to offer, from cafes, '˜warm spaces', theatres and museums, towns and countryside, trains and buses and walks in parks and along the coast
     •  Learning about the history and culture of Fife whilst sharing their own cultural background and language with others

    Training provided:Volunteer Companions will be offered 3 training sessions, which includes induction to the organisation and project. Training will cover aspects of confidentiality, health & safety including promoting mental health and well-being. Additional specific training will be offered in the field of Fire & Home Safety, Dementia Friends etc. Other specific trainings, requested by volunteers will be considered. There will be ongoing support for volunteers with a named person and regular meet ups with other volunteers.

    Travel DetailsRegular organised '˜get togethers' of small/large groups will happen across Fife. Other '˜get togethers' will be in specific areas of Fife which will be convenient for the volunteer to attend.
