    About this opportunity:Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (better known as CHAS) is a charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people who have life-shortening conditions for which there is no known cure
     •  CHAS know caring for a child with a life-shortening condition is a full time job and that our families would really appreciate some support in their own homes in two particular areas - practical tasks and sibling (brother/sister) support
     •  Two main activities home support volunteers would be involved in would be sibling support e

     •  helping siblings with homework, activity and play, drop off and pick up from clubs or groups and/or practical support for the families within their own home
     •  Tasks can include cleaning, ironing, shopping and/or dog walking - practical tasks are dependent on the family’s needs
     •  Any prospective volunteers might be interested in one of these areas or both

    Training provided:CHAS want volunteers to feel happy, safe and confident in their role. Volunteers are thoroughly trained and supported, with regular support & supervision. Before starting volunteers receive an induction to CHAS along with an assessed learning package which consists of 4 x 3 hour weekly sessions, tailored to your role. These sessions are available during the day or evening.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - We will pay your out of pocket expenses in line with the CHAS volunteer expenses policy each month or weekly if prefer. This includes mileage costs and public transport rates.
