About this opportunity:
*During Covid-19 Pandemic we are following Scottish Government guidelines and all support will be provided using a blended model of socially distanced meeting outdoors and/or virtually over Zoom or telephone, depending upon the current level of restrictions*
Do you have some spare time, maybe a couple of hours a week, and you would like to make a huge difference in your community? We might be able to help!
We are looking for volunteer buddies to give parents who are struggling a bit, some extra support • Just an ear to listen, someone to go for a walk or coffee with or to help with appointments, telephone calls or form filling • It's not always the big things that make a difference but the little things • Not only does volunteering help others but it gives you different experiences in life, builds confidence and allows you to share some of your experience to help others move forward •

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, all volunteers will currently undergo initial training via Zoom over four 2 hour sessions covering relevant topics and there will be ongoing support and supervision and there will be access to further free training opportunities.
Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - Mileage is paid 45p per mile and public transport expenses reimbursed.
Good life experience is beneficial.
Non-judgemental attitude is imperative.
Good listening skills and a calm manner is required.
Friendly and approachable.
Particularly looking for volunteers in the following areas:- Central and West Fife.
However, there may be opportunities available throughout Fife.
You do not need to be able to travel by car as long as you are comfortable using public transport. Expenses will be paid and you will be trained and supported throughout the experience.
This opportunity is compatible with the Saltire Awards for volunteers aged 12-25.
