About this opportunity: | Day Care Helpers are expected to welcome service users and carers into the building; to offer them their entitled refreshment and snack; take lunch/cafe orders and pass the orders to the kitchen volunteers for orders to be prepared; to serve the lunches/food to the individuals; participate in activities when appropriate with the individuals who attend e • g • board games, bingo, table tennis, pool, etc • The activities offered on Tuesdays and Fridays are relatively similar • Both offer a cafe service from 10am-4pm; elderly lunches from 1pm-3pm; a sensory room for adults at 10am-4pm; a games hall from 10am-4pm • On Sundays from 1pm-3pm there is a karaoke disco for adults and the elderly to enjoy live entertainment, karaoke, dancing and socialising with each other • There is the option for helpers to dance/sing with service users at the karaoke disco if they wish too • | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Training provided: | Volunteers will receive an induction covering general policies and procedures and be shown around the building. Volunteers are also offered the opportunity to attend the weekly team meeting which discusses matters in the Hyperclub and further training opportunites such as first aid, food hygiene, manual handling, child protection, anger management, etc, are available. Support is provided by the supervisor. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
