  About this opportunity:	PAMIS works with people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex healthcare needs and their family carers  •  People with PMLD will invariably be wheelchair users, are often non-verbal, have significant health problems and require 24/7 care  •  The Friendship Club in Kirkcaldy is well established and volunteers help set up activities in preparation, welcome participants, help them settle in and assist with activities  •  The role is flexible and will be dependent on what skills you can bring to the post e  • g  •  if you have a particular skill or hobby such as crafts, music, gardening, then you could be involved with that activity  •  Volunteers should be willing to meet and support a person with PMLD and have good communication skills  •  Paid staff will attend and support volunteers  •
  Takes place:	mornings afternoons evenings Mondays Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays Saturdays Sundays

  Training provided:	A member of PAMIS staff will introduce the volunteer to other staff members and volunteers. PAMIS are establishing an online training toolkit which volunteers can access. Learning bytes will include communication, health and safety, sensory integration, etc.
  Out of pocket expenses paid?	Yes - Travel and out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
  Experience required:	Willingness to meet and support a person with a disability. Enthusiastic, friendly. Good communication skills are essential. Interest and/or skills in music, crafts, sports, etc, is desirable but not essential. An interest in supporting unpaid carers or experience in unpaid caring would be helpful.
  Restrictions on who can volunteer	PVG required.

  Travel Details	At present the Club runs at Lochgelly Centre, Bank Street, Lochgelly KY5 9RD.
