Befriender (Older Person’s Service) with Link Living Fife.
Created/last updated: 30/09/2020
About this opportunity:
Older Person’s Service is a lively, dynamic project run by Link Living • We offer a befriending service to people aged 65 and over who live in Fife and are isolated and lonely •
Befriending is beneficial particularly for older people who do not get out and about much • As a befriender you might visit them at home for a cup of tea and a chat, read a book or watch TV together • Or go for a walk or visit a café • The matching process means that we match up befrienders with older people who have similar interests and the time together will be mutually enjoyable and beneficial •
no upper age limit has been specified
We provide full induction training plus any other training which may be relevant e.g. first aid, manual handling health & safety, food hygiene, dementia awareness as well as many other options.
