    About this opportunity:Individual client needs can be wide and varied
     •  Volunteers may find themselves supporting clients by having a chat over a cup of coffee or accompanying them to their first session of a new group
     •  Volunteers can also get involved in FIRST's Groupwork activities
     •  The volunteer, client and FIRST staff member work closely as a team to address the issues identified within the Action Plan
     •  Volunteers are required to meet regularly with the FIRST worker and provide clear updates in relation to the progress of the client
    Takes place:
    Minimum age:none specified - most organisations will work with volunteers aged 16 and over
    Maximum age:no upper age limit has been specified
    Training provided:Comprehensive training offered over two full days and continued on-going support. Regular support and supervision sessions will also be held if matched with a client.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Mileage rates at 45p/per mile. Expenses are paid on a monthly basis.

    Experience required:The volunteer needs to have a genuine desire to work with individuals with substance misuse issues who are trying to change their lifestyle.

    Individuals who have previously had an issue with drugs and/ or alcohol should be two years abstinent before applying

    Travel DetailsAt a time to suit both the client and the volunteer. Volunteers who do not have their own transport will be matched with someone locally who can be reached by public transport.
