    About this opportunity:Grandmentors Fife is an intergenerational mentoring programme supporting young people aged 16–26 who may have experienced care, trauma, or challenges with their mental health
     •  They are looking for volunteer mentors (typically aged 50+) to build a positive, one-to-one relationship with a young person and support them to move forward in life
     •  As a mentor, you’ll meet regularly with a young person, offering encouragement, sharing life experience, and helping them develop confidence, independence, and skills around things like education, employment, and wellbeing
     •  This is a flexible and rewarding role where you can make a real difference in your local community
     •  Full training, ongoing support, and expenses are provided
     •  If you’re a good listener, patient, and committed, this could be a great opportunity to give something back

    Training provided:Volunteers receive a full induction covering various topics including the mentoring role, boundaries, safeguarding, trauma awareness and communication skills. Ongoing training opportunities are available, along with regular support from a dedicated staff member. Volunteers will have check-ins, guidance when needed, and opportunities to connect with other mentors.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed, including public transport or mileage where appropriate. Expenses are claimed and reimbursed on a monthly basis at a rate of 45p per mile

    Experience required:You will need; -Good communication and listening skills -Ability to build a positive, supportive relationship -Patience, reliability, and empathy -Good organisational skills -Life experience and willingness to share it -Basic IT skills No formal qualifications required. Full training is provided.

    This is an intergenerational mentoring programme designed to pair older volunteers with younger people to provide life experience and support. Flexibility may be considered where appropriate
