    About this opportunity:Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) is an independent charity that provides essential advice and support services across Fife
     •  CARF is looking to appoint a Chair to its Board of Directors
     •  It is a key role within CARF, providing strategic leadership and oversight to ensure CARF delivers its Business Plan, remains financially sustainable and continues to meet the needs of the communities it serves
     •  Working closely with the Chief Executive, the Chair leads an effective, high-performing Board that provides challenge, support and clear strategic direction
     •  In this role, you will maintain a well-informed view of CARF and the wider third sector landscape, maintain governance boundaries, support the delivery of the Business Plan, lead board meetings effectively, and oversee the performance of CARF
     •  This is the ideal role for someone with experience of the third sector, who is confident in the responsibilities of charity governance

    Experience required:Understanding of charity governance and trustee responsibilities Experience in overseeing risk, audit, finance, and performance frameworks A sound understanding of the third sector and social policy issues, such as poverty, housing, employment and welfare benefits Experience in maintaining productive relationships with funders and partner organisations Can confidently lead and manage meetings; building consensus and taking key and difficult decisions when required Strong communication, influencing and diplomacy skills
