Siblings Reunited (STAR) reunites brothers and sisters separated in the care system, by providing the opportunity for quality and regular sibling contact • Run from its unique farmland setting, it provides a safe, natural, calming and fun environment, where children can foster emotional bonds and help overcome the trauma associated with being separated from their siblings • This role has endless possibilities for you to develop the grounds, which include a large polytunnel, orchard, flower beds and large grassy field • It also includes caring for and maintaing plants • STAR would also like the children to have growing and planting opportunities on site • In addition to building horticulture skills, you will also benefit from being part of a committed and friendly team of volunteers and staff • Come and join us! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Training provided: | Induction includes a tour of the site, expectations, an informal chat about STAR's vision for its environment, health & safety policy and site risk assessment. Other volunteers and staff are available for ongoing support. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Out of pocket expenses paid? | Yes - Traveling expenses are paid at 0.45 per mile or public transport tickets up to a total of £15.00 per session, (due to funding limitations) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Experience required: | Applicants should be keen, enthusiastic and adaptable. They should be able to use their initiative but also to follow instructions /to do list. They should have basic gardening skills and be willing to develop the potential of the grounds for young people to use. They should be familiar with a variety of tools and understand the importance of health & safety guidelines for themselves and others using the site. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
