| About this opportunity: | Can you spare a couple of hours a week to brighten someone's day? Community volunteers for Blind Veterans UK provide crucial social interaction for our veterans who can often feel isolated or lonely • Blind Veterans UK is looking for a friendly, reliable volunteer to support a veteran in Leven with weekly trips to the local shops to get the essentials in • They would enjoy having a volunteer who is also able to break the trip up by having a cup of hot chocolate and a chat • Volunteers must be over the age of 18, be able to use their own vehicle to transport the veteran and have held their driving licence for 2+ years • You will be fully trained and supported so you feel comfortable and confident in your volunteering • Although you will be volunteering in the community independently, your manager is only a phone call away to support you • | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Out of pocket expenses paid? | Yes - You will be reimbursed for light refreshments and for your mileage to and from your home to the member's house as well as for miles travelled out with the member. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Experience required: | Volunteers should be reliable and punctual for the veterans. You must also have your own car and a clean driving licence. Reliability & Punctuality. The role involves regular social interaction, so warmth and good communication are key. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
