    About this opportunity:Bravehound aims to help heal the invisible wounds of military veterans with their specially trained assistance dogs
     •  They provide assistance dogs to veterans who have a clinical diagnosis of a mental health condition such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression and anxiety
     •  Their expert dog trainers provide bespoke support for their Bravehound dogs and their veterans
     •  Once the puppy is about 8 weeks old they are placed with a Bravehound Buddy who then helps with the initial foundations for about 6 months, until an appropriate veteran is matched
     •  The impact of the Bravehound Buddy's work throughout this phase is invaluable
     •  In this role, you will care for the welfare of a dog, socialise the dog, and with help from the Bravehound training team, help with training the foundations of an assistance dog, including taking the puppy to various locations to get used to socialisation

    Training provided:Volunteers are given an induction to Bravehound, and will be given any relevant training for the role. Support will be available from the operations manager.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - All expenses for the dog are covered, including vet bills and food.

    Experience required:Volunteers should be comfortable around animals and able to provide a good level of care. A home visit will be required to ensure your home is a safe environment for the dog.
