| About this opportunity: | The main duties are to support the ward staff/activities co-ordinator in engaging with patients individually or in small groups to encourage positive communication and assist in maintaining patient's independence • This is achieved through the implementation of meaningful activities, with an aim to minimise patient's stress and distress and improve their wellbeing • Activities may include arts/crafts, singing low level exercise and simple games • In addition to the above, volunteers can assist ward staff in the clinical environment by carrying out a range of non clinical tasks and activities to support the staff in the delivery of patient care • | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
