  • Our prescription delivery service has now closed

Fife Voluntary Action is extremely proud of its work during the pandemic- in partnership with NHS Fife, Fife Health and Social Care Partnership and Fife Council- to ensure that shielders and those who were otherwise vulnerable could retain access to their medications. Between March and August 2020, our prescription service saw nearly 5,000 deliveries made. We'd like to extend our sincere thanks to our partners and to all of the volunteers- both those who made deliveries, and those who came forward but weren't needed- for their extraordinary efforts.

As the world begins to return to something a little closer to normality, and in line with the Scottish Government's various advisories on shielding and our exit from lockdown, we have taken the decision to close this service. The last prescriptions will be delivered on 15 August.

We understand that some people have come to rely on this service and that this may be worrying for them. Should you require some guidance on your options, please call 0800 389 6046 and ask for a member of the prescriptions team, who will be able to discuss this change further with you. Alternatively, you can e-mail us here.

We also think it is important to note that- should the Scottish Government's advice change, and we find ourselves returning to the stricter lockdown of the past few months, we will be ready to redeploy this service when needed.
