Greener Kirkcaldy - Groups wanted for Kirkcaldy Walking Festival
Created: 05/04/2018Are you part of a group or organisation that would like to take part in the first ever Kirkcaldy Walking Festival (14-22 July 2018)? Greener Kirkcaldy are looking to bring together groups and organisations from around Kirkcaldy to run a variety of walks to encourage people to walk in their local community, get active and bring people together to enjoy different aspects of Kirkcaldy and Dysart.
They welcome all kinds of walks, from themed walks, such as nature or historical walks, to family orientated rock-pooling walks or just gentle walks exploring the local area. The only limit is your imagination! As the festival will be held in the school holidays, they are hoping there will be lots of walks that are suitable for children. The idea of the festival is to get people out walking locally, therefore they ask that all walks start and end in Kirkcaldy or Dysart, are free, and are open to the public. They are looking for groups from across the town to organise and handle bookings for their own walks as part of the festival. They will coordinate a programme and widespread publicity - this could be a great chance for your group to engage with the local community and to reach a new audience.
If you are interested in organising a walk, please email Festival Organiser, Susan at [email protected] by Friday 20 April 2018.
