Tutor/Support with Learning - Lead Scotland
Created: 21/09/2015Share your skills. Support disabled people, or carers, to achieve their learning goals.
Make a difference. Lead Scotland volunteers support disabled people and carers to develop skills.
Time and Place: The opportunity can take place in a Learning Centre or the learner's own home if appropriate. It would be beneficial for volunteers to have a driving licence and use of a car, as some opportunities may be difficult to access using public transport.
Volunteers support learners on a one to one basis, to learn and develop all kinds of skills, depending on the person's longer term aims. Lead Scotland have a person centred approach, which means they listen to what the learner wants to earn, will provide specialist guidance and tailored learning packages to support them to achieve their goals.
The learning can be formal or informal - learners can be supported to achieve a qualification and/or learn skills to make a difference to everyday life. Some learners want to improve their reading and writing skills, others may want to learn new skills e.g. computing. For learners who wish to gain ICT skills, but do not have a computer, we can provide a laptop loan.
Volunteer Reference No: VO54184.
