More support for Supported Volunteering!
Created: 24/03/2015
For a variety of reasons some people may require a little bit of extra support to enable them to volunteer. This may be because of low confidence or self-esteem, physical or learning disability or a number of other issues which are creating barriers to their volunteering.
Fife Voluntary Action volunteering staff are able to provide extra support to local people to enable them to volunteer, and until recently, this was limited to the central & west areas of Fife. The project was called ‘Give Something Back’. However, the project has now ended – but the good news is that the support we can give hasn’t!
We now have 5 full time Volunteering Development Officers based throughout Fife, who can give this support.
Our experienced staff work on a one-to-one basis with potential volunteers to establish a suitable volunteering opportunity for them. Staff are able to accompany individuals to meetings and interviews, or provide other support that may be necessary, as well as signposting them to other support organisations.
