    Created: 25/02/2025
    News/Events Category: Children and Families

‘Keeping children safe in Scotland’ is a new online resource launched by The Scottish Government that provides age appropriate information and guides to child protection processes for children, young people, and families who may become involved in child protection processes in Scotland.

The guides are available via the new website as written, audio, and downloadable versions. Although the guides can be accessed directly by children, young people, and families, there is an expectation that practitioners will support them when accessing the guides.

The Scottish Government committed to producing national information resources when the National Child Protection Guidance in Scotland 2021 – updated 2023 was published, and, in line with the emphasis in the guidance, the guides were developed in consultation with children, young people and families in Scotland with experience of care and protection, and with practitioners from police, social work, health, education services and the third sector who helped to oversee and shape the content.
