Do you work with student carers? Provide advice and support to people with caring responsibilities in higher and further education? Social Security Scotland is hosting an online event to share information about the financial support available for carers in education.
The session will share details about Carer Support Payment (which is replacing Carer’s Allowance in Scotland delivered by DWP). Carer Support Payment is available to many carers in education age 16 and over.
The session will include:- What is Carer Support Payment?
- Eligibility for carers in education
- Supporting information required for applications
- Backdating claims
- Young Carer Grant and interactions with Carer Support Payment
This may be of interest to Student Support Advisors, Student Welfare Advisors, Welfare Rights Advisors, and advocacy organisations.
