    Created: 15/01/2025
    News/Events Category: Employability

Fife Gingerbread’s Lone Parent Poverty & Work project is delighted to announce another new initiative.

Building on success in developing paid traineeships in various employment sectors, Fife Gingerbread has worked closely with Fife Sports & Leisure Trust (FSLT) and Fife Council’s Life Chances programme to offer four tailored job opportunities for lone parents in local FSLT centres. Roles include leisure attendants, administration, and receptionists.

Participants of the traineeship will receive role-specific training for the first four weeks of their employment, including employability and vocational skills, team buildin,g and enhanced, supported induction.

Participants will then move on site to gain hands-on experience for the remainder of their employment. Lone parents will gain valuable experience and skills which will lead them into secure and sustainable career opportunities with a supportive and community-based employer.

FSLT recognises and celebrates the transferable skills of lone parents, and by partnering with Fife Gingerbread, looks to promote lone parent-positive workplaces across Fife.
