Peer2Peer Essentials (3 weeks)
Created: 21/11/2024Peer2Peer Essentials is designed to introduce you to the values, principals and history of Peer, explore how it relates to your own experiences, and how it works in practice. Peer2Peer Essentials is suitable for those interested in doing peer support roles in the future, those already in those roles and those interested in learning more about peer (for example, people who work alongside peer workers or are interested in developing peer support roles within their organisation).
Peer2Peer was originally developed through an EU funded partnership to provide training for people with lived experience of mental health challenges to support others in recovery. Scottish Recovery Network was a partner in the project and has played a major role in developing and promoting Peer2Peer.
The full Peer2Peer training is approximately 48 hours. Peer2Peer Essentials is a short course covering some of the foundational parts of Peer2Peer, and inviting you to think about your next steps. Peer2Peer Essentials was co-developed by members of the Peer Support Network.
Peer2Peer Essentials Learning Outcomes:
This training is 3 x 2.5 hour sessions:
