  • DWP - Winter Fuel Payments for tax credit customers

    Created: 26/09/2024
    News/Events Category: Employability

Customers over state pension age and receiving Working Tax Credit or Child Tax Credit will be able to get a Winter Fuel Payment for this winter if their annual tax credit award is for at least £26 and covers at least one day in the week of 16 to 22 September 2024. They must also meet the other conditions for a Winter Fuel Payment.

As tax credits are closing, most people on tax credits will get a notification informing them they will need to apply for either Universal Credit or Pension Credit to continue getting financial support. It is important they do not apply before they get their notification as it could affect how much they will get.

More information on Winter Fuel Payments for those on tax credits will be published on GOV.UK shortly.
