  • The Ecology Centre open week for healthcare professionals

    Created: 05/09/2024
News/Events Category: Health and Social Care

The Ecology Centre invite all healthcare professionals to visit their facility and explore the range of programmes and activities they offer, which may be of interest for social prescribing initiatives.

The Ecology Centre provides a variety of nature-based and community-focused programmes designed to promote physical and mental wellbeing. Their offerings include:

    • Opportunities for patients to engage in therapeutic gardening, which can reduce stress, improve mood, and provide physical exercise
    • Activities that connect individuals with nature, fostering a sense of purpose and community
    • A range of volunteer roles that encourage social interaction, skill development, and a sense of achievement

What The Ecology Centre offers can greatly benefit patients who may be experiencing mental health issues, social isolation, or physical health conditions.

Come along to their Open Week to see first-hand how their programmes operate, meet the team, and discuss how you can work together to support your patients through social prescribing.

There will be opportunities to shadow our volunteers if you wish to experience first-hand the impact that volunteering with The Ecology Centre can make on people’s lives.

The open week runs 24-27 September 2024, 11.30-1.30 each day.
