It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local service providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.

An estimated 13,000 people in Fife are living with sight loss, and of these, 1,923 are registered blind or partially sighted. It is also estimated that there will be a 20% increase in the number of people in Fife who will experience sight loss by 2030 (source: RNIB Data tool, 2021).

It is often assumed that those managing sight loss will struggle to find or remain in employment and at this session Heather Barbara from the Royal National Institute for Blind People will help us understand:

    • What the Royal National Institute for the Blind is and how it helps those with sight loss
    • What sight loss really means and how widely the experience of those with different forms of sight loss can differ
    • How assumptions about sight loss prevent people’s employment prospects unnecessarily
    • How workplaces can adapt to the needs of those with visual impairment
    • How your clients can benefit from further support from organisations supporting those with visual impairments
