Good Conversations training will build your skills in using a powerful ‘personal outcomes approach’ to help people you work with grow in confidence and achieve their hopes.
This programme of Good Conversations is directly targeted at people working in the employability sector.
Participants will learn about the key elements central to a successful personal outcomes approach and explore how to hold outcomes focused conversations in a variety of common and difficult situations.
Participants will:
- Understand the policy and evidence base as to why a ‘personal outcomes approach’ matters when it comes to employability support
- Develop collective understanding of the value base and core elements fundamental to delivering a personal outcomes approach
- Equip participants with a range of skills to undertake Good Conversations and support the use of the personal outcomes approach in their work
- Discuss how these tools can support our work, and what might need to change at systems, service and frontline levels to take this forward
Who should attend?
The training will be greatly beneficial to managers of employment services, staff, and volunteers involved directly in having outcomes focused conversations with people they support and people involved in training staff and service users.
About the course
The course is held over three sessions and all participants must be able to attend all three sessions.

Each sessions runs 9.00-4.30 (registration opens at 9.00am) at New Volunteer House, Kirkcaldy.
By booking through this page, you will automatically enrol on the other two sessions. You do not have to book each day separately.
About the venue
We cannot offer parking spaces to attendees at our courses held at New Volunteer House. For those who have confirmed bookings and cannot attend without driving, we recommend the parking bays at the nearby Kirkcaldy Train Station, a five minute walk from the venue. We do have multiple free parking spaces for disabled drivers, if you are displaying your blue badge.
