Lunchtime Learning - Introduction to Peer Support
Created: 02/08/2024FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local service providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.
With the Scottish Government's Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy delivery plan for 2023–2025 including championing the value of peer support from prevention to recovery, there is a growing acknowledgement of the value and benefits of people with shared experiences supporting each other.
The Fife Peer Support Network was established in March 2020 to build capacity for delivering peer practice with both individuals and organisations in the area.
At this session Lea Cooper, Peer Support Network Coordinator at Fife Voluntary Action, will offer some context to the history and purpose of peer support, tell us more about the current landscape of peer support in Fife, and provide information on how you can grow and develop peer support within your organisation or context.
