    Created: 31/07/2024
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

The Centre of Sustainable Energy is a national, independent UK energy charity. They have a grant funding opportunity for upgrades to community buildings, village halls, and community centres, on behalf of Thrive Renewables. The Thrive Renewables Community Benefit Programme is open to buildings within a 20-mile radius of a Thrive Renewables site for energy efficiency grants of up to £4,500.

    Eligibility

Fife groups that are eligible to apply should be based within a 20-mile radius of Dunfermline - postcode KY11 8UD.

If you need more support to identify appropriate upgrades for your community building, get in touch. We can get you started and provide guidance on things like:

    • How to find an installer
    • Low and zero cost energy saving improvements
    • Turning your energy audit into a report
    • Other sources of funding and finance for community buildings

    How to apply

    1. Read the guidance document, check that your building is within 20 miles of a Thrive Renewables site and meets other eligibility criteria. See the map of Thrive sites on their webpage, please note some of these have changed from previous years.
    2. Complete the basic energy survey to help identify appropriate improvements to the building. Obtain two quotes from installers for each improvement you have identified as most appropriate using the energy survey.
    3. Fill in the application form and submit your completed form, energy audit and installer quotes to CSE by post or email. All documents and guidance are on their webpage: https://www.cse.org.uk/my-community/community-projects/thrive-renewables-community-benefit-programme/

Awards will be made to groups which demonstrate that the improvements to their building will achieve the most impact in carbon savings and social value to their community.

For more information, visit this webpage or contact them by e-mail: [email protected]

The closing date for applications is 11.59am on Tuesday 24 September 2024.
