  • Gateway - Workit work placements for young people

    Created: 11/07/2024
    News/Events Category: Employability

Gateway is a public sector, not-for-profit consortium of ten local authorities in Scotland that supplies Scottish schools with Workit, a database that matches young people with employers offering work placements. Workit is used by the majority of local authorities across Scotland including Fife.

Post-pandemic, the number of work placement opportunities for Scottish young people has dropped significantly and Gateway is looking for employers to work with to develop the workforce of the future.

Gateway is looking to support senior phase students by offering work placements that are flexible and can be set over times and days that suit an employer's business and can offer support to businesses that are interested. Offering work placements is a great opportunity for young people to build on their skills and businesses can also benefit from identifying potential future employees, engaging with the local community, boosting reputation and staff development.

If this is something you would like to find out more about please visit Gateway’s employer information page or the LinkedIn profile or e-mail John Prior on [email protected].
