Make a positive difference in someone's life by joining The Richmond Fellowship Scotland (TRFS) in their Fife services, helping support the people who need it most. TRFS is committed to paying 40p per hour above the Scottish Government's Living Wage declared 2024/2025 rate for social care. This means from April 2024, they intend to pay £12.40 per hour.TRFS has an exciting opportunity for two Support Practitioners to join their team. They are looking for individuals who can cover a part-time contract for 25 hours a week and a full-time contract for 39 hours per week. These vacancies cover Anstruther and coastal areas. Please note that this is shift work and may include weekend and public holiday work at times. These posts cover home care and housing support. You will mostly be looking after elderly and adults with mental health. Both posts are for day shifts only.
Due to the nature of services in this area, TRFS can only accept applications from candidates who have a valid full driving licence and access to their own vehicle. You will be paid for your travel time while on shift and there is a 45p per mile fuel allowance.
Please note that all posts are offered on a shift pattern basis and will include weekend and public holiday shifts, however they have shift patterns to suit your availability as a part-time or bank staff member. Please contact [email protected] or call 07884 602630 to discuss your availability.
No previous experience in care is required as they provide full in-house training to all new staff members and will invest in you to achieve an SVQ Level 2. What matters most is that you have the right values and the right attitude.
About the RoleYour responsibilities as a Support Practitioner could include:
- Social Support - Assisting individuals to engage with their communities by planning and attending outings to various clubs and leisure activities such as day centres, bowling, cinema, swimming etc
- Medical Support - Administering and monitoring medication
- Personal Care - Assist people to maintain their wellbeing by promoting their personal care which would include assistance with showering/bathing, dressing, arranging visits with professionals such as dentists, doctors or opticians, assisting with incontinence care
- Practical Support - Helping people to maintain their tenancy by encouraging daily household tasks such as general housework, laundry, ironing, cooking, shopping

All successful Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditioner offer, subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups). PVG checks will be required of all successful applications. Having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector. All new staff members will be required to register with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) within six months of their start date.
