    Post: Senior Support Worker (Female Only)

    Richmond Fellowship are looking for a permanent Senior Support Worker to join their busy housing support and 24 hour services in Kirkcaldy.

    This vacancy is open to female applicants only due to the requirements of the individuals they support.

    The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is dedicated to making a real difference in supporting people with their everyday lives. They support 2,800 people, and each person they support is a unique individual, meaning each support role will be different to the next giving you the chance to really make a difference in that person`s life.

    About the Role

    • As a Senior Support Worker your duties could involve managing and mentoring a team of support staff, identify training needs, leading the writing of support plans, rota management, and participating in review meetings. There will also be practical support with the person`s daily life, personal care or helping to promote a positive, active and healthy lifestyle to the individual you are supporting.
    • This post is full time with sleepover shifts, and due to travel requirements we are looking for applications from drivers with access to own vehicles. Good communication, computer literacy and ability to meet strict deadlines are essential. Due to personal care requirements of the people we support at these services, this vacancy is open to female applicants only.
    • Senior staff are expected to cover oncall duties. As a Senior member of staff, we would expect you to step in and assist with covering shifts.
    • Please use the five application questions to demonstrate your thorough understanding of the role and expectations of a Senior Support Worker.

    Requirements

    For this fantastic opportunity you will need:

    • At least two years previous experience of supporting individuals within care. 
    • Experience of leading teams in a social care environment.
    • Have, working towards, or are willing to undergo SVQ Level 3, and two units from Level 4. 
    • Hold a full driving licence and have access to own vehicle.

The successful applicant must also register with SSSC as a Supervisor in Care at Home and Housing Support Services on taking up the post.
