FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local service providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.
Disability Confident is a UK Government scheme and is about creating a movement of change, encouraging employers to think differently about disability and take action to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people.
DWP can provide information about the Disability Confident scheme and support employers through the three levels of Disability Confident. At each stage employers will be recognised with a certificate and a logo that they can display on external comms.
Also, those with a disability who want to find work or sustain employment have access to support available from JobCentre Plus in the form of their local Disability Employment Adviser.
At this session, Eileen Cunningham and Colin Duffus from the Department for Work and Pensions will help us understand:
What the Disability Confident Scheme is and how it supports employers;
How the DWP’s Disability Employment Advisors support disabled people into work.
