This event is being organised by NHS Fife
It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.In recent years, in common with the rest of Scotland, Fife has seen rising rates of obesity and problems with food insecurity and access to affordable healthy food - all now exacerbated by the cost of living crisis. During, and since the Covid-19 pandemic, we have seen an increase in sedentary behaviour.
Collectively, three areas of food, weight and physical activity have been identified as a public health priority, known as Public Health Priority 6. By working together we could make a difference to Fife’s health and wellbeing.
The one day event will cover:
- Identifying priority areas for action and agree how we work together to improve our health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities;
- What more we can do collectively to reduce obesity levels, improve access to affordable healthy food and be physically active;
- Recognising the strategic context for Public Health Priority 6;
- Hear about evidence for interventions to reduce obesity and improve physical activity;
- Share local examples of best practice within communities.
The event takes place on Tuesday 19 September 2023, 9am - 4pm, at Benarty Centre, Ballingry.
