It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

Express Group is a mental health charity that has operated in Fife for almost fifty years, providing group activities and one-to-one work for people aged over 18 experiencing poor mental health.

They are planning to open a new group in Tayport. Potential service users, interested professionals, and the general public are invited to come along to meet the staff who will be running the group. The group aims to provide a safe place where service users can share experiences and support each other (peer support). For some, the groups are perhaps the only place they can meet people and socialise; for others, they are a chance to help and show what they can do.

Participants receive a light breakfast of toast, tea/coffee (bottomless), and a simple cooked lunch at the end. Activities are decided by the participants and include playing board games, doing arts and crafts, doing crosswords and other puzzles, playing bingo, or just sitting and chatting with friends old and new.

Groups are served by a Group Co-ordinator and assisted by Case Workers and Volunteers. Case Workers can undertake one-to-one work with people requiring a bit more help with things such as dealing with letters and appointments or with other agencies such as banks or the council. They also work with service users to develop and maintain individual recovery plans using Individual Recovery Outcome Counter system developed by Penumbra.

There is a referral system in place for joining groups. Referral and self-referral forms can be downloaded from the website or requested from the office.
