    This event is being hosted by FVA and organised by the national Third Sector Employability Forum

    Tackling child poverty is one of Scottish Government’s top priorities. The Best Start Bright Futures delivery plan includes significant funding commitments to local areas through the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund and Parental Employment Support. Third Sector employability services play a key role in supporting parents and carers to move towards (and into) fair work, lifting families out of poverty.

    Participants at this event will:

    • Hear first-hand from the policy lead for tackling child poverty and Best Start Bright Futures funding – Chris O’Hanlon;
    • Explore examples of existing employability projects which address this issue from across Scotland;
    • Find out how employability fits with wider systems work and funding opportunities that can support a reduction in child poverty;
    • Hear from the Improvement Service on developments across cross-cutting areas such as early years and childcare – Susie Donkin.
