It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local service providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.

The ongoing Cost of Living Crisis is particularly worrying for people who are living in poverty or debt.  Third sector practitioners know that their clients are often facing multiple problems simultaneously and that these are very often linked and impact on each other.  Some of the most persistent and impactful challenges facing those who are disadvantaged are financial difficulties, which can have long-lasting effects on mental and physical health and wellbeing.  Struggling with money is perhaps the most basic, ubiquitous and yet one of the most complex problems third sector clients must navigate.  Providing a safe context within which clients can be supported is often highly dependent on their secure personal finances and this can sometimes be more awkward to manage than any other factor.

Karen WicksMoney Adviser at Citizens Advice and Rights Fife will help us gain a clearer understanding of some of the most common financial problems facing Fife’s residents and what both CARF and third sector practitioners can do to help.  We will be looking at:

    • Debt
    • Benefits
    • Budgeting
    • Common causes of financial hardship

    Who should attend?

This session will be valuable for any third sector practitioner who regularly find themselves helping clients who are facing persistent financial difficulties.
